Holy Cross Church Daventry

. To be a Beacon of Love & Light to all .

“You are the light of the world. A city built on a hill cannot be hidden.  No one after lighting a lamp puts it under the bushel basket, but on the lampstand, and it gives light to all in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father in heaven.” (Matthew 5: 14-16)

At Holy Cross church we endeavour to be a light in the darkness for the people of Daventry. We want to help our neighbours in practical ways and we want to encourage others to discover the love God has for each and every one of us. Please do come and visit us, at the church, or feel free to contact us via our contact page , by  Facebook  or by telephone.

We look forward to meeting you soon.

O God the source of all light,
May we bring light to your world,
Drawing out your presence in the everyday.
As we offer you our lives,
Shape us as disciples,
That we may reveal your goodness
And reflect your light.
In Jesus name,

A Prayer for us all at this time.

Keep us, good Lord,
Under the shadow of your mercy.
Sustain and support the anxious,
be with those who care for the sick,
and lift up all who are brought low;
that we may find comfort
knowing that nothing can separate
us from your love
in Jesus Christ our Lord

Pray Through February

The Archbishops of Canterbury and York have called all disciples of Christ to prayer daily for our nation in these difficult days, throughout February at 6pm .

Prayer resources can be found by clicking on this link.

Remember to light the candles we asked God's blessing on at our Candlemas service, when you pray, and if possible place the lit candle in a window which is visible to anyone passing by.

Bless you all,

We have suspended all worship in Church due to the rising number of positive cases of Covid19 in our area.

Daily prayer is a great way of connecting with God and with each other, can I suggest that at 4.00pm every day we all sit down and pray through this booklet together. It's a great way of connecting with our heavenly Father and with each other. Praying together at the same time will help us all to feel connected and will be encouragement for our faith at this difficult time.

God bless,
