Holy Cross Church Daventry

. To be a Beacon of Love & Light to all .

“You are the light of the world. A city built on a hill cannot be hidden.  No one after lighting a lamp puts it under the bushel basket, but on the lampstand, and it gives light to all in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father in heaven.” (Matthew 5: 14-16)

At Holy Cross church we endeavour to be a light in the darkness for the people of Daventry. We want to help our neighbours in practical ways and we want to encourage others to discover the love God has for each and every one of us. Please do come and visit us, at the church, or feel free to contact us via our contact page , by  Facebook  or by telephone.

We look forward to meeting you soon.

O God the source of all light,
May we bring light to your world,
Drawing out your presence in the everyday.
As we offer you our lives,
Shape us as disciples,
That we may reveal your goodness
And reflect your light.
In Jesus name,

Coronavirus 19

Update on Holy Cross Opening

At Holy Cross Rev. Dawn and the PCC have agreed to not open until the 7th July guidance permitting for Morning Prayer and then for Private prayer.

This is to allow us to ensure that all the relevant safety measures are in place and the church is cleaned thoroughly after being closed for the past few months.

The service and space made for Private prayer will be in the Lady chapel and we will still be adhering to the 2m social distancing guidelines. Due to this we can only allow 10 people in the church for the service and private prayer at any one time.  (This will be monitored and reviewed on a regular basis).

As we have been advised, hands must be washed on entering the building and for your protection the PCC also have decided that masks and gloves will need to be worn. (Some will be available if you do not have any and we request that you make a donation towards these costs)

We will still hold our Sunday morning service via zoom and upload Morning prayer each week.

Please scroll down for recordings of our services

We also encourage you to keep a regular prayer life praying for the world, our country, our leaders, those on the front line and ourselves at this time.

Resources and Useful contact information can be found on the  Coronavirus 19 page

If you have any concerns please feel free to contact us.

A Prayer for us all at this time.

Keep us, good Lord,
Under the shadow of your mercy.
Sustain and support the anxious,
be with those who care for the sick,
and lift up all who are brought low;
that we may find comfort
knowing that nothing can separate
us from your love
in Jesus Christ our Lord

Daily prayer is a great way of connecting with God and with each other, can I suggest that at 4.00pm every day we all sit down and pray through this booklet together. It's a great way of connecting with our heavenly Father and with each other. Praying together at the same time will help us all to feel connected and will be encouragement for our faith at this difficult time.

God bless,

We are also emailing out a weekly bulletin, Holy Cross Life line, which can also be downloaded  here.  If you have not received the email and would like one, please let us know by using the contact section here.
